I Am Not Obliged to Warn Congress: Trump
The U.S. administration is not obliged to obtain Congress's permission for potential strikes on ground targets in Venezuela. This was stated by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump noted that he does not object to informing lawmakers but is not required to do so. He also expressed concern that members of Congress could leak information regarding Washington's plans about Venezuela.
"I am not obligated to warn them. That has been proven," Trump said in response to questions about the necessity of Congress’s approval for military actions.
