Former NSS Director Invited for Interrogation: 'Zhoghovurd'

The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports that informed sources from the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia have announced that the former director of the NSS, the head of the NSS Investigative Department, Mikhail Hambartsumyan, has been invited for interrogation regarding the criminal case related to the armed group of Nork. Moreover, this will be an in-person interrogation.

'Zhoghovurd' learned that according to the preliminary investigation body, pressure was exerted on some members of the Nork armed group in the NSS as far back as 2015-2016, resulting in testimonies that compromised the group. Since Mikhail Hambartsumyan was the head of the NSS Investigative Department at that time, he has been summoned for questioning.

The newspaper also posed a question to Mikhail Hambartsumyan regarding our information, to which he merely stated that he is glad there are still honest people who are not motivated by personal or other interests to engage in slander or lies. This response leads us to conclude that our information is indeed accurate, and an in-person interrogation has taken place, during which testimonies denying Mikhail Hambartsumyan's guilt were provided, prompting him to speak of the honesty of these individuals.

Is this an order directed at Mikhail Hambartsumyan from certain circles, or merely an objective verification process? At this moment, it is difficult to draw a conclusion. Perhaps we should wait for further developments.
