Rubén Vardanyan Prepares for Final Speech in Baku: Family Statement
Yesterday, Rubén Vardanyan had a phone conversation with his eldest son, David Vardanyan. He stated that he would soon have the opportunity to deliver a final speech, in which he intends to emphasize the following: "What is happening, I do not accept as a judicial process and I do not intend to participate in an imitation of justice. The process taking place in Baku does not correspond to the fundamental criteria of a fair trial and therefore cannot be considered a trial in its true sense. I regret nothing. All my actions have been performed consciously and voluntarily, fully understanding the possible consequences. I am ready to answer for my deeds before God. The only thing I regret is that I could not do more. Once again, I declare: Artsakh has been, is, and will be, regardless of attempts to rewrite history or impose alternative interpretations of events."
Rubén Vardanyan also requested the public to convey some of his thoughts and expressed gratitude to all those who have supported and stood by him: "Do not be afraid of death or try to 'overcome' it. Death is not terrible. What is terrible is indifference, which unnoticed and gradually seems to radiate, penetrating us and eroding from within. Do not be afraid to follow your own path, seek, err, and until the end of life, discover the world. The important thing is to walk your own path consciously. The most important thing is to do no harm. Do not disrupt the harmonious balance that exists in nature and the world. We are all particles of a common space that can only exist in balance and harmony. Be careful with words. Words can wound, but they can also become a powerful catalyst for development, support, and creativity. I am happy to be able to serve my people. I am grateful to everyone who has been and remains by my side during this difficult time."
