No Indication of Russia's Withdrawal from Peace Agreement, Zelensky Says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that there is currently no clear signal indicating that the Russian side is preparing to withdraw from the peace agreement. However, in the event of such a scenario, the West should strengthen its support for Ukraine.
This statement was made by Zelensky in response to questions regarding a possible withdrawal by Russia. He noted that if Moscow chooses not to pursue diplomatic avenues but instead opts for military solutions, it would confirm that one of the warring parties has abandoned negotiations.
“If Russia steps away from the diplomatic path, it means that we need to strengthen the other side—Ukraine. Strengthening involves weapons, sanctions, and financial support. This applies to both the U.S. and Europe,” emphasized the Ukrainian president.
At the same time, Zelensky added that in his assessment, Moscow does not actually desire an end to the war, even though there has not yet been an official rejection of the peace process.
