Frozen Assets Issue Is Dead, Orbán Says
The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, has stated that the issue of seizing frozen Russian assets has effectively been taken off the agenda in the European Union. According to Orbán, there is not enough support within the EU to adopt such a decision.
He noted that a so-called 'blocking minority' has already formed, preventing the necessary votes from being gathered to advance the initiative.
“I think the issue of frozen assets is dead. Last night I saw that there are enough opposition countries that can constitute the number of votes that are referred to here as a blocking minority. I believe this topic is no longer relevant,” Orbán declared.
