Belgian Prime Minister: Compromise on Use of Russian Assets Is Unacceptable

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever has taken a firm stance on the ongoing discussions regarding the use of Russian assets, emphasizing that any compromise on this matter is unacceptable.

In an interview with reporters, he stated that while concessions may be possible in certain areas, any points that could jeopardize the financial security of Europe, and specifically Belgium, are not open to negotiation.

“Of course, I can agree to compromises, but in matters that put Europe’s and Belgium’s financial security at risk, it is simply impossible. For complete clarity, it is impossible,” Bart De Wever said.

It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister's remarks come amidst ongoing discussions within the EU regarding the potential use of frozen Russian assets.
