Zelensky Explains Ukraine's Strong Security Guarantees

Strong and effective security guarantees for Ukraine include those provided by the European Union, as well as ensuring the country's economic security and membership in the EU. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine views security guarantees as a unified whole. According to him, if international partners are willing to support Ukraine's security guarantees, Kyiv's position is that they should also support Ukraine's membership in the European Union.

"I cannot say when or what other conditions might exist, but this is our understanding of security guarantees, and indeed shared by many of our partners," noted the Ukrainian president.

He added that EU membership is not just a political component, but also a crucial element of Ukraine's economic security, contributing to the country's stability and long-term security.
