Snow on the Tatev-Shinuhayr Highway: Road Conditions Update

The Rescue Service has reported that the roadways in the territory of Armenia are mostly passable. The road to Koreans' Gorge has been temporarily closed to traffic since August 19 due to reconstruction works and the risk of rockfalls.

There are patches of black ice on the Vardenyats Pass. Snow is present in the towns of Kajaran and Goris, as well as on the Tatev-Shinuhayr highway. Drivers are advised to travel only with winter tires.

According to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia’s North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open to all types of vehicles.
