Russia and Iran Agreement Establishes Guidelines with a 20-Year Perspective: Lavrov to Araqchi
The comprehensive partnership agreement between Russia and Iran outlines guidelines for cooperation across all major sectors with a 20-year perspective. This was announced by Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during the opening of talks with Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
According to Lavrov, just a few days ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed the strategic objectives arising from this important document, emphasizing its significance for the long-term development of bilateral relations.
In turn, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi expressed gratitude to Russia for its support to Iran during attacks by the United States and Israel, during his meeting with Lavrov in Moscow. Furthermore, Araqchi appreciated the traditional hospitality of the Russian side, to which Sergey Lavrov humorously responded, stating that 'it has not yet come to that.'
