Orban Announces Removal of Russia-Related Issue from EU Summit Agenda

We have won because European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that she is retreating, and the issue of Russian assets will not even be on the agenda. This was stated by Hungarian President Viktor Orban.

Orban pointed out that if he understood von der Leyen's statement correctly, the question of Russian assets would not be part of the negotiations.

The EU summit will take place on December 18-19 in Brussels. The central theme of the meeting will be funding for Ukraine in 2026-2027.

It was previously reported that Belgium and several other European countries continue to oppose the use of frozen Russian assets for these purposes.
