Release of Russians Arrested in Baku is a Priority for Moscow: Foreign Ministry
The release of 11 Russians arrested in Baku is an absolute priority for the Russian side. This was stated by Mikhail Kalugin, the director of the fourth department for the CIS countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“Our absolute priority this summer is the rapid return of our 11 citizens arrested in Azerbaijan to Russia. We discussed this issue in detail during the political consultations held on December 9-10 this year at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” said Kalugin.
The situation regarding the Russians arrested in Baku was also discussed at the end of November during a meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and Azerbaijani Ambassador Rahman Mustafayev.
