Mandatory Military Service Term Shortened

The National Assembly has adopted the bill on amendments to the "Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen" in the second reading and in full.
According to this, the mandatory military service term has been set to 18 months instead of the previous 24 months.
Defense Minister Suren Papikyan stated, "Our boys drafted from January 7, 2026, will serve for 18 months."
