We Have Certain Levers to Influence Air Quality: Avinyan

During the operational meeting of the Yerevan City Hall, issues regarding air quality in the capital were discussed. It was noted that due to weather conditions, air quality had significantly improved last week.

Mayor Tigran Avinyan, responding to the topic, stated, “The air quality issue in Yerevan is largely conditioned by climatic factors and geographical location. However, we have certain levers, albeit very small ones, to influence air quality. The measures being implemented will have a certain impact,” said Avinyan.

He added that concerning global changes, we must continuously monitor large-scale greening efforts outside of Yerevan, so that we can create a certain barrier against the winds that bring that air into the city.
