That's a brazen lie: Arsen Torosyan on pension age increase
The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, Arsen Torosyan, has denied rumors that the government is planning to raise the pension age. Torosyan addressed the topic during a recent discussion.
“Certain circles, especially under hybrid attack conditions, are trying to spread fear and anxiety among our people by claiming that we are planning to raise the pension age. They refer to the Prime Minister's words in the National Assembly regarding what ages 63 or 65 entail. A person can work, be engaged in entrepreneurial activities, and create products at that age, and this is indeed true, as modern science and medicine allow us to live much longer and stay healthy for many more years. Yes, there are tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of citizens who are working at that age, are happy with their jobs, and will continue to work for many years to come. I wish everyone good health.
“I officially declare that there is no such thing; we are not planning to raise the pension age, that is a brazen lie,” Torosyan stated.
