Progress Evaluated in the Armenia-EU Visa Liberalization Process
At the conclusion of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting, Minister Mirzoyan delivered a statement to the press. “Good morning, esteemed colleagues. I am pleased to return to Brussels. It has only been two weeks since a very successful Armenia-EU Partnership Council, during which we adopted the strategic agenda for the Armenia-EU partnership, elevating our relations to a new level.
Today, in the framework of the Foreign Affairs Council, chaired by High Representative Kaja Kallas, we discussed all the key achievements of the Armenia-EU partnership, from the economy and enhancing resilience to security issues, including hybrid threats and the support provided under the European Peace Facility. We addressed all the topics that are currently very important in the relations between Armenia and the European Union.
We also evaluated the progress in the visa liberalization process, a topic that is very significant for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia and in terms of bringing Armenia closer to the European Union. Of course, there is also a larger picture—regional developments, the opening of communications between countries in the South Caucasus, and the opportunities that arise. We discussed and welcomed the potential involvement of the EU in infrastructure projects.”
