Media Outlets Reveal New Details on Ukraine-US Negotiations
According to the German newspaper Bild, Ukraine insists it is prepared to hold elections and renounce NATO membership. At the same time, earlier reports from RBK-Ukraine, citing sources within the Kyiv authorities, indicated that President Volodymyr Zelensky is not planning to organize a vote and has only discussed it due to pressure from US President Donald Trump.
"Both points are ones that Ukraine would be willing to accept under certain circumstances," the publication states. The piece also mentions that Kyiv is reportedly ready to agree to a 'freeze' of the current front line, but refuses to withdraw its troops from the entire Donbas region.
Previously, negotiations concerning Ukrainian settlement had taken place in Berlin, involving US President’s special representative Steve Biegun, American leader's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and Volodymyr Zelensky.
