Trump Threatens Thailand and Cambodia with New Tariffs

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that Washington may terminate trade agreements and impose new tariffs on Thailand and Cambodia in the event of a resumption of hostilities between the two countries.

This statement was made by Trump in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, emphasizing that he had previously warned both parties about potential economic repercussions.

“I told them, if you start a war, I will not only sever our trade agreement but also impose tariffs on your countries,” the U.S. President stated.

It is noteworthy that on December 12, Donald Trump announced the cessation of military operations between Thailand and Cambodia. However, shortly thereafter, reports emerged indicating that the clashes had not stopped, and both sides accused each other of launching attacks.
