Slovak Prime Minister Compares Ukraine to a Black Hole

Ukraine is like a black hole that absorbs the European Union's funds and its future. This was stated by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on his Facebook page.

"Ukraine is a black hole that wastes billions of euros, rational economic thinking, and the stable future of the European Union," he wrote.

It is worth noting that on December 12, Fico announced that Slovakia would block the provision of a "reparations loan" to Kyiv at the upcoming European Council. He added that Bratislava would not support the allocation of European funds for the war, as it is committed to a peace policy.

Furthermore, on December 10, The New York Times reported that the European Union lacks a strategy to end the conflict in Ukraine. The publication's authors point out that EU member states have no answers to key questions regarding "the future of the country." Additionally, European leaders are facing other challenges, including budget deficits and worsening public opinion due to ongoing support for Ukraine.
