Orban Warns Against Seizing Frozen Russian Assets

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has stated that the potential seizure of frozen Russian assets in the West could have serious and unpredictable consequences for the European Union. According to him, such a move threatens not only the legal foundations but also the stability of the European financial system.

Orban noted that there has been little precedent for such actions in history and emphasized that even during World War II, similar measures were not implemented. He assessed that the confiscation of frozen assets could negatively impact international trust and principles of property protection.

The Prime Minister of Hungary warned that such a decision could cause long-term harm to the European economy by setting a dangerous example for other countries. He stressed that any actions must be based on clear norms of international law and should not undermine the EU's reputation.
