What Ukraine's Counterproposal to the US Plan Contains

Ukraine's counterproposal, sent to the United States, includes a refusal to relinquish control over the Donbas region. This was reported by The New York Times, citing five current and former Western officials familiar with the document.

According to them, Kyiv insists on maintaining control over eastern territories that remain under Ukrainian jurisdiction. European and former American officials noted that the previous American version of the plan suggested handing over the entirety of Donbas to Russia.

Moreover, sources at the newspaper indicated that the American provision regarding Ukraine's renunciation of its right to join NATO has been removed from the Ukrainian document.
