I Advise to Leave the Planet: Zakharova

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has given a harsh response to the latest advisory from one of the European Union's institutions, suggesting that the European Commission should “fly off the planet.”

Zakharova's dissatisfaction stems from a new directive issued by the European External Action Service (EEAS), which advises European diplomats not to participate in events attended by Russian representatives. The document also specifies that even in unavoidable contact, diplomats should avoid being in the same frame as their Russian counterparts.

In this context, Zakharova sarcastically responded to these European recommendations in a social media post, stating that if European institutions are concerned about the presence of Russians, then the best solution is to “leave the planet.” She also humorously added, “A rocket from us,” hinting at Russia.
