Georgian Minister on the Opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway
The Minister of Economy of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, has announced the imminent opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
“Very soon, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia will celebrate the historic launch of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project, which will play an important role for our country and the region. The official opening ceremony of this project will take place very soon,” said Mariam Kvrivishvili in an interview on First Channel.
According to her, the government will also invest one billion lari (approximately 370 million dollars) in Georgia’s railways over the coming years to strengthen its transit role, ensuring that Georgia remains a competitive country and a reliable partner, providing fast and high-quality cargo transportation.
