Russia Supports Iran in Nuclear Program, Says Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Tehran and Moscow are maintaining close and ongoing interactions on sensitive international issues, including Iran's nuclear agenda, emphasizing that Russia supports Iran.

Putin made this announcement during a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at the 'International Summit on Peace and Trust' held today in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. He noted that Tehran is well aware of Moscow’s position, adding that Russia supports Iran at the United Nations.

Putin also highlighted that the foreign ministers of the two countries are in regular contact on various issues.

The Russian president extended greetings to the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and praised the growth in bilateral trade, which is projected to increase by 13% in 2024 and 8% in the first nine months of 2025.
