President Extremely Disappointed, Says White House
The White House has announced that President Donald Trump will send a representative to Europe this weekend for negotiations regarding Ukraine, should a genuine opportunity arise for signing a peace agreement.
Trump's press secretary, Caroline Levitt, stated that Trump is tired of numerous meetings that fail to achieve any agreement on halting the war in Ukraine.
“The President is extremely disappointed by both sides of the war and is tired of meetings just for the sake of meetings,” she said.
Meanwhile, Trump has had a phone conversation with the leaders of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom and later announced that there had been a lively exchange of views, including on the prospects for negotiations in Europe this weekend.
“He wants this war to end. The administration has spent over 30 hours, and that’s just in the last few weeks, meeting with Russians, Ukrainians, and Europeans. Let’s see how this weekend's meetings go, and stay tuned for updates,” Levitt added.
