Finnish President Cancels Visit to the United States

The President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, will not travel to the United States to participate in discussions with European leaders regarding the peace process for Ukraine, the Finnish presidential office announced today.

Earlier, Reuters reported, citing two EU diplomats, that European leaders are planning to meet in Berlin on December 15 to discuss the peace plan for Ukraine.

"The visit of President Alexander Stubb to Texas, USA, scheduled for December 15-16, has been canceled. The President will participate in discussions dedicated to peace negotiations for Ukraine in Europe earlier in the week," the statement said.
