Attempts to Create an 'Eastern NATO' Are Not Beneficial to Russia: Shoigu
Attempts to create an 'Eastern NATO' are not beneficial to Russia and Southeast Asia, particularly to its partners in Laos. This was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Sergey Shoigu.
"The attempts to establish an 'Eastern NATO' do not align with our interests," Shoigu said during a meeting with Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith. He clarified that Russia is committed to the existing security architecture model established in the region, which has long been in place and has proven its viability and effectiveness.
According to him, this model is based on the experience of numerous wars and tragic events that have occurred in the region.
