In a significant move, Armenia has become the 54th member state of the International Labour Organization (ILO) to ratify Convention No. 190 on Violence and Harassment in the World of Work. The document was handed over by Armenia's Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, Ambassador Hasmik Tolmajyan, to ILO Director-General Gilbert Houngbo.

This information was reported by the Office of the Permanent Mission. In the follow-up meeting, Ambassador Tolmajyan emphasized that this important step reflects Armenia's unwavering commitment to ensuring dignity, equality, and safety in the workplace. She stressed that no worker should be subjected to violence or harassment and that protecting individuals from such phenomena is crucial for building inclusive and fair societies.

Ambassador Tolmajyan added that by ratifying this important convention, Armenia reaffirms its dedication to promoting gender equality, protecting fundamental rights, and creating working environments where respect and fairness prevail. She noted that Armenia is ready to closely collaborate with the ILO and other international partners to translate this commitment into practical actions and contribute to advancing a global culture of decent work.
