Anti-Azerbaijani Propaganda Continues in Russia, Media Reports

In Yekaterinburg, a final indictment has been published against Shahin Shikhlinsky, the leader of the Azerbaijani diaspora and currently detained Russian citizen. The criminal case has been forwarded to the court for examination. According to the APA news agency, one of the investigators handling Shikhlinsky's case is Karen A. S., a major in the Russian Investigative Committee and an ethnic Armenian.

It is also noted that another Armenian employee, Karen Kamoevich Tutunyan, testified against Shikhlinsky in connection with the incident. The defense claims that Shikhlinsky's case has been examined in a one-sided and biased manner, highlighting numerous inconsistencies in the charges.

The agency reports that tensions in Azerbaijan-Russia relations have escalated following the crash of a civilian aircraft owned by AZAL in Russian airspace. It is mentioned that Russia has yet to penalize those responsible for the incident.

The report emphasizes that Shikhlinsky's case is portrayed as a manifestation of the anti-Azerbaijani policy being carried out in Russia. It is highlighted that pressures and persecutions against leaders and activists of diaspora organizations continue, with cases of arrests and deprivation of citizenship being recorded. According to the publication, the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Investigative Committee are involved in this process.

The report also refers to the fact that soon after Shikhlinsky's arrest, Vidadi Mustafaev, who was appointed as the president of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Yekaterinburg, was also arrested on serious charges.
