Mikael Sarbazian's Defense Team Issues Statement

The Correctional Medical Center has proposed to organize the surgery for Mikael Sarbazian. This was stated in a statement released by Mikael Sarbazian's defense team.

"The issue of Mikael Sarbazian's surgery was raised as early as October 7, 2025, with a request directed to the Correctional Service. The Correctional Service redirected this request to the Correctional Medical Center. Meanwhile, Mikael Sarbazian's lawyer submitted a written request to the Correctional Medical Center on October 29, 2025, to which, in response, only on November 28, 2025, did the Center's director inform that Mikael Sarbazian had refused the free surgery.

According to this requirement, the detained person must submit a written request to the head of the medical unit located at the correctional facility and also indicate the name, surname, medical institution, and contact details (phone number, email address) of the civilian medical establishment's doctor. It is evident that the detained person will face difficulties in finding and presenting this information.

Regardless, Mikael Sarbazian's defense team has once again submitted a request to the Correctional Medical Center, presenting the following documents: 1) A copy of the medical center’s report dated October 7, 2025, 2) An excerpt from the medical history, 3) Results of the ultrasound examination, 4) A copy of the lawyer's request dated October 7, 2025, 5) A copy of the letter from the head of the Correctional Service's staff dated October 14, 2025, 6) A copy of the lawyer's request dated October 29, 2025, 7) A copy of the lawyer's request dated November 6, 2025, 8) A copy of the lawyer's request dated November 10, 2025, 9) A copy of the response from the Correctional Medical Center dated November 28, 2025, 10) Mikael Sarbazian's consent dated December 9, 2025, 11) The doctors' consent dated December 9, 2025, 12) A copy of the license, 13) Mikael Sarbazian's power of attorney dated December 9, 2025.

In response to this request, the director of the Correctional Medical Center informed on December 11, 2025, that the application and documents have been redirected to the Yerevan-Center department and an offer has been made to organize the surgical intervention for Mikael Sarbazian."
