Levon Aronian Wins Fischer Rapid Chess Tournament

Levon Aronian, competing under the flag of the United States, has won the "Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Final" Fischer Rapid Chess Tournament. This information was reported by the Armenian Chess Federation.

"Aronian defeated world number one Magnus Carlsen in the final with a score of 1.5:0.5," the statement noted.

It is worth mentioning that currently, Norwegian Magnus Carlsen tops the ranking list with 2882 points, while Aronian is in fifth place with 2830 points.

For his victory, the Armenian chess player received $200,000, while the second-placed Norwegian grandmaster earned $120,000.
