Inter-Parliamentary Agreements Ahead of 2026: ‘Zhoghovurd’
Several extra-parliamentary opposition forces are holding regular meetings to discuss their plans in the run-up to the national elections. These forces include the Armenian National Congress (ANC), the Sasna Tsrer, the Living Country party, the Nashar constitutional movement, Victor Mnatsakanyan, president of the Victory party and urban planner, among others. This was reported by the daily newspaper ‘Zhoghovurd’.
“We are meeting with a significantly larger number of people and political forces. I believe it would not be appropriate to disclose names or details from the meetings at this time,” Nina Karapetyants, the leader of the Nashar constitutional movement, said in an interview with the newspaper. She added that in this situation, it is more reasonable to maintain silence and calm.
Karapetyants only mentioned that they agreed on many issues with all the forces that truly carry values and have a vision of what a transformed, developed, and secure Armenia could look like.
When asked if they had discussions with Arman Tatoyan, the leader of the newly formed United Wings movement, Karapetyants did not respond.
“It is still too early to talk about a unified candidate. I can only say that my candidacy has been proposed by the Nashar,” she stated.
It is known that other opposition groups, such as the Our Way movement and the Armenia alliance led by Robert Kocharian, are also positioned within the opposition and are expected to participate in a similar format. It is too early to predict what new forces will emerge,” the newspaper writes.
