Changes in Visa Issuance for Armenian Citizens by the German Embassy

The waiting time for submitting visa applications to Germany has significantly decreased due to the measures implemented by the German Embassy in Armenia.

In response to an inquiry from Armenpress, the embassy remarked on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement regarding anticipated changes in the visa issuance process for Armenian citizens.

PM Pashinyan mentioned that during his meetings in Berlin, the German Ambassador in Armenia confirmed that there would be no more queues for visa applications starting next year.

When asked about the planned changes in the visa application process for Armenian citizens, the German Embassy in Armenia responded: "According to Schengen visa rules and regulations, the German Federal Embassy has been consistently working in recent months with a comprehensive approach to improve the service for Armenians applying for visas. This includes the decision that starting from July 2025, visa applications are to be submitted through the external service provider TLS Contact, while the embassy will make the decisions regarding visa issuance. Meanwhile, the embassy has updated its information system to inform potential applicants about visa requirements in a more accessible manner. These measures have led to a significant reduction in the waiting time for submitting applications. The embassy will inform the public about future developments regarding this issue."

It was previously reported that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that there are expected changes in the visa issuance process for Armenian citizens by Germany.
