US Seizes Oil Tanker Near Venezuela Shores: Bloomberg

US forces have seized and taken control of an oil tanker under sanctions near the shores of Venezuela. This was reported by Bloomberg agency.

The White House has yet to comment on the incident, nor has the Venezuelan state-owned company Petróleos de Venezuela SA or the relevant ministries.

The seizure could complicate the export of Venezuelan oil as carriers, fearing sanctions, are likely to be more cautious when shipping their cargo.

A significant portion of Caracas’ exports is sent to China, often through intermediaries and at considerable discounts due to the risks associated with US restrictions.
