Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has conveyed the importance of the release of 11 detained Russian citizens to the Azerbaijani side. According to Azerbaijani media reports, Galuzin met with Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and head of the foreign policy department of the presidential administration, in Baku.

"The Russian side has emphasized the urgent need for the release of these 11 Russian citizens who were detained in Baku at the end of June and the beginning of July," the ministry stated.

Additionally, during the Russian-Azerbaijani consultations held in Baku from December 8 to 11, Galuzin discussed the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan with Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov and issues regarding Moscow's support in this regard.
