Deaths in Prisons Are Numerous and Have Various Causes: Galyan

According to the presented statistics, the highest number of deaths in correctional institutions was recorded during the years 2014-2016. This was announced by the Minister of Justice, Surbhi Galyan, during a briefing with reporters.

"This is not an argument aimed at suggesting that deaths are few; on the contrary, deaths are numerous and they have different causes," added the minister.
