Spider Robot Plants Trees on Burnt Lands: Details
The Trovador spider robot is planting trees on burnt lands. This was announced by Levon Azizyan, the director of the Hydro-Meteorology and Monitoring Center, on his Facebook page.
Students from Portugal have created a six-legged robot designed for autonomous tree planting on steep slopes after forest fires. Currently, Trovador exists as a functional prototype that can plant six trees in one cycle.
However, the creators plan to develop a larger and more efficient version in the shape of a robotic dog, which will be capable of analyzing soil in real-time, digging holes, and planting up to 200 trees per hour.
