Separate Furnished Cells and Cameras Soon: Galayan

The Minister of Justice, Surbhi Galayan, stated during a press conference that the deaths recorded in penitentiary facilities have various causes. "Each death case is different. We have instances of suicide, physiological deaths that are linked to health issues," Galayan said.

According to her, efforts are being made in different directions: "We are working to prevent cases of suicide by soon having separate furnished cells, which will feature softer furniture and reduced opportunities for fatal actions to be carried out, and there will be cameras to monitor them," the minister stated.
