Investigation into Incident Between Community Policemen Concludes

The investigation initiated in the Human Rights Violations Division of the Special Investigative Committee of Armenia regarding the incident involving community policemen has reached its conclusion.

It has been established that on June 29, 2025, two community police officers, upon learning that two other officers had failed to respond to a call, engaged in a confrontation with one of them. During this altercation, they inflicted physical harm by striking the individual with their hands and feet, causing bodily injuries.

According to the Committee, during the investigation, public criminal charges have been filed against two individuals under Article 195, Part 2, Clause 5 of the Criminal Code (Physical violence by a group of individuals).

The criminal case has been forwarded to the supervising prosecutor with a request for confirmation and to be sent to court for substantive review.
