Do Not Share Personal or Bank Details: Scammers Calling Pretending to Be from the Central Bank
The Central Bank has issued a statement: "Dear citizens, as a result of monitoring conducted by the Central Bank of Armenia, it has been found that recently a scheme has emerged in which scammers are impersonating the Central Bank and urging customers to transfer funds to other accounts through fake letters and phone calls.
We inform you that the Central Bank of Armenia does not make such announcements or calls, does not send messages, and does not provide banking services to individuals. If someone calls or contacts you in any other way claiming to be from the Central Bank and asking or pressuring you to transfer money to more 'secure' or 'special' accounts to avoid scams or financial losses, we urge citizens to take no action, not to share personal or bank details with anyone, and to immediately contact your servicing bank."
