Robert Kocharian's Office Responds to Government-Published Document
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has published a series of documents on the government's website, which he described as related to the "negotiation process for the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict". However, as expected, these documents are incomplete, presented in a manipulative manner, and include articles that cannot be deemed as official documents.
Given that the publication is also related to former President Robert Kocharian's involvement in negotiations, Yerevan.Today requested comments from Bagrat Mikoyan, head of the former president's office.
“There was almost no new information for the public in the published documents, or there was very little. The most shocking news was that an article from 'Haykakan Zhamanak' was published under the pretext of a document. This was indeed a revelation,” said Bagrat Mikoyan.
“The Key West document, which was negotiated during Robert Kocharian's tenure and by him, is entirely absent from the list. Instead of that document, an article edited by Pashinyan from a newspaper was published, which, by the way, has been published several times before.”
When asked about the stance on the 2019 document regarding the OSCE Minsk Group proposals, Bagrat Mikoyan responded, “That document, which Pashinyan rejected, is worthy of much attention, as that rejection led to war. It is already becoming apparent what kind of quality this person negotiated with. It is not excluded that around serious negotiation tables, he continued to refer to 'Haykakan Zhamanak' newspaper. This, already, is the highest degree of diplomatic mockery, when one who negotiates on behalf of the country refers to the publication of his own edited newspaper as a document.”
