Ukrainian Drones Attack Internationally Significant Facility: Peskov
The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, has described the Ukrainian drone attack on the infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) as a noisy incident, as it involves an object of international significance.
The Consortium reported that the attack by a maritime unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) damaged the CPC's docking facility, making its operation impossible. According to preliminary information, there was no oil spill in the Black Sea, and no employees were reported injured.
Last night, the CPC's marine terminal suffered significant damage due to the attack by unmanned surface vessels (USV), leading to the single point mooring (SPM) (SPU-2) sustaining considerable harm, the consortium told RBC.
They added that further operation of the SPM-2 is impossible. Under the order of the captain of the Novorossiysk sea port, loading and other operations have been halted, and tankers have been towed out of CPC waters. There are no injuries reported among employees or contractors.
The consortium emphasized that it unites the largest fuel and energy companies from Russia, the United States, Kazakhstan, and several Western European countries.
