Peace Talks in Ukraine Cannot Continue Without Europe, Says French Foreign Minister
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barot has stated that peace negotiations in Ukraine cannot proceed without the involvement of Europe. His comments were quoted by Le Figaro.
Barot emphasized that President Vladimir Zelensky's visit to Paris is not a coincidence, and that France is doing everything possible to ensure that 'everything is done for the sake of peace in Ukraine and European security.'
He reminded that the initial plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, consisting of 28 points, has been significantly altered, taking into account the interests of Europe.
“On the one hand, we reached the elimination of everything that concerned Europeans, and on the other hand, we achieved the United States' clear intention to cooperate with us for the first time on the preparation of so-called security guarantees, meaning military elements that will prevent further aggression after the signing of peace,” Barot stated.
