Kyiv Expects to Receive 1 Billion Euros from Europe for Purchasing American Weapons
Kyiv plans to obtain approximately 1 billion euros from Europe by the end of 2025 to purchase American weapons, Bloomberg reports, citing Ukraine's ambassador to NATO, Aliona Getmanchuk.
The goal is to secure an additional 1 billion euros in European funding by the end of the year for the purpose of acquiring weapons from the U.S.
In an interview with Bloomberg, the Ukrainian ambassador to NATO added that Kyiv would be extremely grateful to allied countries for new allocations to ensure the continuous supply of equipment under the PURL initiative. The PURL (Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List) initiative, created by the U.S. and NATO, does not provide direct military assistance from the U.S. to Ukraine. Instead, it allows European countries to purchase American weapons for Kyiv.
