Peace Agreement in Ukraine Could Ensure Stability in the Region for 50-70 Years, Hakan Fidan

Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan believes that a peace agreement in Ukraine could secure stability in the region for the next 50-70 years, or even longer.

“Such an agreement must contain clear commitments that neither side will attack the other for any reason. If we can reach an agreement on this matter, it could lead to an additional 50, 60, or 70 years of peace in the region. Perhaps even longer,” Fidan said in an interview with the German newspaper Welt.

He emphasized that he sees such an agreement as a “historic opportunity” to prevent further escalation.
