Court Rejects Request to Arrest Grigor Khachaturyan
It has become known to the "Ishkhanutyun" news outlet that Judge Sarkis Petrosyan of the Anti-Corruption Court has rejected the investigator's request to apply detention against Major General Grigor Khachaturyan. Consequently, no international warrant has been issued for his arrest.
According to sources, Khachaturyan is currently in Moscow and can only return to Armenia at his own discretion. In this situation, it is not possible to issue an international search warrant for the defendant; however, he is obliged to present himself to the prosecuting body independently.
Grigor Khachaturyan has been charged in connection with a recently separated part of a criminal case being investigated since 2021, under Articles 436, Part 1 (bribery by a group of individuals acting in concert) and 549, Part 3 (exceeding authority or abuse of power, resulting in serious harm to human health) of the RA Criminal Code.
