Residential Buildings Damaged and Fires Erupt in Kyiv Due to Russian Drone Strikes; Casualties Reported
According to Ukrainian media reports, there are casualties and injuries in Kyiv due to the strikes, with residential buildings being destroyed. City Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that fires have broken out in the Holosiivskyi, Solomianskyi, and Darnytskyi districts due to debris falling on non-residential structures and open areas.
He mentioned that as a result of the attack, power outages are occurring in some parts of the capital. “In the Darnytskyi area, missile debris has fallen in the yard of a nine-story building. A fire has broken out on the sixth floor of the building. Emergency services have been dispatched to the scene,” Klitschko wrote.
At the same time, the National Police of Ukraine reported that a drone crash in the Sviatoshynskyi district caused a fire and partial destruction of a building. “Rescuers have retrieved the body of a 42-year-old man from the rubble. Eleven people have been injured, including a 10-year-old child. Police and emergency services are on-site to assist the injured and document the consequences of the enemy shelling,” the law enforcement report stated.
Later reports indicated that the number of casualties has risen to two.
