Investigation into Vardan Ghukasyan's Bribery Case Concluded

The Anti-Corruption Committee has announced the conclusion of the investigation into bribery involving Vardan Ghukasyan, the Mayor of Gyumri. Ghukasyan, who has been leading the city for several months, is accused of soliciting a bribe from a resident of Gyumri in exchange for legalizing a construction built without authorization through the city architect.

The individual accused of bribery has pleaded guilty, while Vardan Ghukasyan, according to his lawyer, denies the charges. Should the prosecution prove its case in court, Ghukasyan faces up to 10 years in prison.
