Entering a Completely New Phase: Pashinyan
In the last five years, we have seen an economic growth of more than 7% on average, which is the result of all our efforts. This statement was made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the second working conference titled “Improving the Business Environment through Dialogue” taking place in Jermuk.
“Today in Armenia, there has been a significant shift in thinking for quite some time. I believe that alongside the changes in the political and socio-psychological layers, we should also have a certain change in economic thinking,” Pashinyan emphasized.
According to Pashinyan, we often face modes of thinking and formulas that are inadequate to the changes occurring in Armenia. “In my opinion, we are entering a completely new phase where we must at least revise the ways we form economic policies and engage in economic activities, aligning them not just with today’s context, as aligning with today means always lagging behind. Today, we should discuss the process, dynamics, and the short-term, medium-term, and long-term strategies and developments to adapt our thinking accordingly. Our economy and we are part of the global world, and we must be able to align our ways of thinking and acting with the developments in the world,” he stated.
“In the modern world, sports and culture are branches of the economy. In the first government meeting of 2026, we will adopt the doctrine of economic policy, the draft of which is in the final stages. There, we will outline what directions we need to work on by 2050 to ensure our economy is competitive and developing,” Pashinyan added.
