UK Asks Russia's Defense Ministry to Evacuate Its Citizens
Representatives of the United Kingdom have approached the Russian Ministry of Defense, requesting the evacuation of 10 of its citizens. As reported by RIA Novosti, this was announced by Mikhail Mizintsev, Deputy Head of the National Defense Management Center of Russia.
“The representatives of the UK have requested the evacuation of 7 citizens from Kyiv and 3 from Mariupol, as they are unable to leave the besieged areas,” Mizintsev stated during a meeting of the interagency coordinating headquarters for humanitarian response.
It is noteworthy that early in the morning on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that a decision had been made regarding a special military operation against Ukraine, following requests for assistance from the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic and the Donetsk People’s Republic. In a televised address to the Russian people, he indicated that the circumstances demanded decisive and immediate actions. Combat operations have been ongoing for the eighth day now.
