The famous Russian MMA fighter Vyacheslav Vasilevski has expressed his opinion on the decision to hold a fight for the temporary title between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett, bypassing Arman Tsarukyan, who ranks first in the lightweight category of the UFC.

“I don’t know why this happened. This is a disappointment for the MMA fans in our region. The biggest disappointment is for Arman. He did everything to get this opportunity. He had already started training literally right after the fight. However, the UFC had other plans,” said Vasilevski.

It is worth reminding that UFC president Dana White had previously announced that the current lightweight champion Ilia Topuria would not fight in the first quarter of 2026 due to personal issues. He also added that he would meet with the winner of the showdown between Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje.
